What is SEO, By My 12 Year Old Niece

Now I know the title sounds suspicious, but in fact it is 100% true. Here is the story behind it and then you can read the article my niece Nevena wrote two days ago.

So as most of the people who follow me know and from what you can see from my hubs I do a lot of SEO. For the last six months I have been doing several SEO projects, among them is a personal one. During that time my niece made frequent visits, not because she loves me so much, but because she loves playing with my pets. I have two dogs, a German Sheppard and a Balkan Hound, three cats, one Russian Blue and two of unknown origin and two tiger parrots. So this is like a zoo for her and she loves it here because of them. But as 12 year old kids are she is very curious and asks a lot of questions, although I never imagined she ever actually paid any attention to what I say.

The fact is that when I’m asked a question I have this urge to say a lot and explain everything in details; I simply can’t provide a yes or no answer. So most of the questions revolved around my work, starting from what I’m doing now and what is that for, does it have a use, do people really read that etc. Like I said most of my work revolves around SEO and she eventually got curious and started asking plenty of questions about SEO, and of course I provided her with some detailed explanations, like what is off page and on page optimization, what is a link bait, difference between black hat and white hat SEO and several other important issues like quality content and quality links.

Again, I never imagined she listened, let alone remember any of the things I said, but now that I think back she rarely asked me the same question! So that is the story behind it, well, three days ago she asked if she could help me in any way and without any thought I said that she could write me one short article with the title What is SEO. I never imagined that she would show up the day after with a paper in her hand and an article titled What is SEO.
Please keep in mind that we are from Serbia and that she is 12 years old, personally I think her English is amazing for her age and I am sure I will be working for her SEO company in a few years.

Condition for a better site rank in search engines is not only content of site but site optimization. Search engine optimization or SEO includes all activity that need to be done for better rank in search engines for the site. SEO makes promotion of web page or whole site much better.

There are two kinds of optimizations but one without other does not have good results. First kind is ON PAGE optimization and that includes changes that you make on your web site, something that you can control like text on your site, keywords, links. On page optimization is important but it doesn’t mean that your site will have a good position in search engines. Second kind is off page optimization that includes all incoming links on your site or page of your site. The higher number of incoming links on your page makes the content of your page more important so the search engine will recognize that and your site will have better position on list. Both of optimizations on page as off page optimization are very important for better results that you want. You must not neglect the effect of any of this.
