Canon EOS 500D / Digital Rebel T1i Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens

Couple of decades back the strongest cannon used to win the war, we live in the 21st century and it seems that the fact remains, strongest Cannon wins the war. The Cannon we are talking about is Canon EOS 500D, the new evolution of digital cameras. It evolved from 450D into what it is now, leaving digital cameras like Nikon D90 behind. But this Canon doesn’t make much noise, it creeps up on you and when you think you are safe it shows you what it’s made of, and it is made of the greatest technology providing the best quality photos.

Canon EOS 500D is a remarkable camera with high quality pictures and the new and improved DSLR movie mode, so this is a digital camera that has everything you need to win your photography war. Canon EOS 500D has 15.1 megapixel resolution, that is the first thing it precedes both 450D and Nikon D90, here is a list of things where 500D is better than both of those:

- Higher resolution sensor (15.1 vs 12.2 that 450D has or 12.3 effective megapixels that Nikon D90 has)
- Extended ISO range up to ISO 12800
- HD video capability
- New 3.0 inch 920K pixels screen
- Adjustable noise reduction and highlight tone priority
- Face Detection in Live View
- Peripheral Illumination Correction
- HDMI output
- Larger buffer in continuous shooting
- Digic 4 style menu design

With extended ISO range and 4 levels of noise reduction this digital camera blows the current competition, plus the price is smaller than for Nikon D90 making that camera sufficient. The 3 inch screen allows you to look at the new menu Canon made for Canon EOS 500D. The menu is simpler, and it can be optimized. Basically you can get all the things you need and put them in one place for easy access, which is a great feature. Standard face detection and correction are just some of many improved features but what every photographer needs to know is the quality of the pictures, resolution, and size. That goes same for video recordings.

Image size:
• 4752 x 3168
• 3456 x 2304
• 2353 x 1568

Video mode:
• 1080p at 20fps
• 720p at 30fps
• VGA at 30fps
• MOV (Video: H.264, Sound: Linear PCM)

You can always change the format of your video recording via software that you will get if you purchase Canon EOS 500D, and you can change it into AVI, MPEG or any standard video format.

Bottom line is that Canon EOS 500D, or its full name, Canon EOS 500D / Digital Rebel T1i Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens is better and stronger than the current competition, plus the thing that certainly puts this camera above all is the price. Canon EOS 500D costs from $840 to $1500 which is much cheaper than Nikon D90 and it really is a big question why is D90 still so expensive when there are better cameras out there.

A little advice though, if you need to check the competition and find the best price use price comparison websites, they give you the insight into world of prices. Once you sort that out you may buy the camera or anything else you need much quicker and for less money.

Canons are awesome cameras. I have one, not this one, a cheaper one. Anyways i dropped it in the lake one day, it was waterlogged and not working.I thought it was ruined. After a couple of days it had completely dried out and worked good as new. One of the best cameras out there.

Great hub!

G'day Zarko , what a coincidence I have just purchased one of these cameras for our Art Society. It comes as a twin lens kit! I have not used it much at all as yet so I will be studying your Hub and bookmarking it for future reference. :-)

Well I hope you are not disappointed in this camera, I used it a little in the past year and it served me well!
