Successor to Panasonic LUMIX DMC FZ28 - Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ38 / DMC-FZ35K Digital Camera
New Panasonic LUMIX DMC
In case some of you remember the famous DMC FZ28, and even better, if you liked it then you will surely like the new model in LUMIX DMC line, Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ38 / DMC-FZ35K Digital Camera. The new LUMIX was released one year after the FZ28 and, of course, has many improvements compared to the older model. Even though some people did expect a bit more, you still can’t say it’s just a reworked FZ28. In case you are wondering, FZ38 is the name of the model released on the European market, it’s actually the same as FZ35K.
Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ38 Characteristics
As you can see by its design, this camera comes from the long line of FZ series, the famous Panasonic super-zoom cameras. Cameras from these series always were at the top of the market in super-zoom category. We can say with confidence, that Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ38 / DMC-FZ35K Digital Camera is no exception when it comes to that, and even though plenty of competitive super-zoom digital cameras feature optical zoom better than 20x, this camera makes up for it with other features.
As I already said, the body design is typical for the FZ series that originated with the first FZ back in 2006. Body is not the smallest from the FZ series but is not far from it. The use of textures and grips made from rubber in body design make this camera feel firmly in your hand. It is also lightweight which makes it quite easy to use.
Now, let us take a look under the hood of this camera. Resolution on Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ38 / DMC-FZ35K Digital Camera is 12.1 effective megapixels and guarantees the images of high quality. When it comes to the lens of the camera, that is what made the most people a little bit disappointed, it is the same lens used on FZ28, 27-486 mm lens with 18x optical and 4x digital zoom. This is hardly a bad lens, in fact it is still considered as one of the best, but people expected at least some improvement on the lens of the new model.
While we are at it, LCD screen, and aperture maximum are the remaining features unchanged since the previous model but rest assured that everything else is at least by some degree improved. At the startup, this camera takes only 1.5 seconds to power on completely, and can make consecutive shots in 1.7 seconds (or 1.8 if the flash is turned on). As you can see this camera is very fast, especially with the control interface designed in that way that you can access and change the settings very fast and easy, you lose almost no time in between shots.
One of the interesting features of this camera is the ability to capture RAW files. In case you are wondering what are RAW files, those are images untouched by different engines designed to remove noise and to process images. This will enable you to edit RAW images anyway you see fit if you prefer manual editing to automatic one. There is a long list of other improvements but it is just impossible to fully account them here, but rest assured, if you like super-zoom cameras, or want to try one, Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ38 / DMC-FZ35K Digital Camera is a good choice.
