SEO Resources, Where to Start and a List of 30 DoFollow Websites
86Isn’t this a descriptive title? Perfect for SEO, I could have placed a few more keywords in it, like Useful SEO Resources or 30 Do Follow Websites to Promote Your Articles. Just kidding, well I decided to share a bit with fellow Hubbers, not from what I gather on the net, but from my personal experience and my personal practice. What you will see below is a list of a few websites I used in my quest for knowledge involving search engine optimization and some of the do follow websites I used for my article marketing campaigns.
A note on the do follow attribute. Everyone in SEO business knows that do follow applies only to Google, what bothers me about it are the SEO gurus that make you forget about no follow links, that is bad business people. It somehow feels like they don’t want you to succeed, promoting free information but telling you to look in the other direction while they get the job done. Google can get you 40% of your overall traffic at most. I get 70% of my traffic from referring sites, like HubPages or social bookmarks like Digg, Stumble Upon or Twitter. My Facebook pages are doing a wonder, but I also get traffic from Yahoo and Bing, pretty much the same amount I get from Google. Digg is a no follow website, but Yahoo indexes no follow links, so by concentrating only on do follow links you are wasting more than 60% of the traffic you might get. The idea is not to be liked by Google, it is to be liked by people, by your visitors, by your bread, so get them where you can and keep them with good content, nothing else matters. But, if you do want to be liked by Google and get that piece of the cake as well you will have to find some good do follow sites for your SEO campaign and your article marketing, so I have a list of 30 do follow sites that I use and want to share it with you. I hope my little rant didn’t make you want to leave, I think I did provide some useful info. Now let’s get to the business, first a couple of useful SEO resources, there, I used it!
The resources below are sites and blogs and tools I used and still use to brush up on some things or to help me in my campaigns or even to learn new things from fellow marketers or my personal favorite place to grab SEO knowledge, Matt Cutts.

According to some experts SEO or search engines optimization is simply a means to an end. Yes, SEO is a way to get your site visible in search engines in this online modern day warfare. But most people...
- High Quality Content, the Most Important Thing in SEO
If you read or heard anything related to SEO you probably heard that content is king. There is a reason why that is so and we will get to it in a bit. From the practical SEO side there are multiple reasons...
- Professional SEO Service or Do It Yourself SEO?
If you have a website or if you are planning to start one, the question you should be asking yourself is whether to opt for do it yourself SEO or hiring a professional SEO service. There are benefits to both,...
- What is SEO, By My 12 Year Old Niece
Now I know the title sounds suspicious, but in fact it is 100% true. Here is the story behind it and then you can read the article my niece Nevena wrote two days ago. So as most of the people who follow me...
Ranting On
I think that is enough, if you need more or want more you can get the full list on my blog, Practical SEO, under useful SEO resources. I think you will find almost everything you ever needed about SEO on these sites. If you are a beginner you might want to read through my Hubs or through my blog first, if you consider you already have your basic SEO knowledge than feel free to visit these sites and learn more. Now to the list of 30 do follow websites for your article marketing.
30 Do Follow Websites
1. Ezine Articles, the number one place to submit your articles, content is king and Ezine Articles is the king’s palace.
2. HubPages, now most would name another article directory to be number two, but I don’t. I simply go by my experience and if you are good to your Hubs and your fellow Hubbers, they will be good to you. So this is a great community and if you give it your best it will pay of, I just fall in love over and over again when I see how much traffic I am getting from here.
3. Squidoo, similar site to HubPages, but there is no love like here, much harder to get followers and get them involved in a real discussion.
4. Blogger, sucking up to Google is a must, so if you want to get indexed quickly make a blog on the Blogger platform.
5. WordPress, my favorite free platform, the best thing since Linux. You simply cannot make it in the online industry without the power and great benefits of a Wordpress blog. Of course we are talking about wordpress.com in this Hub, but I will make it my business to write about Wordpress platform.
These are my top five choices, the rest is not set by rankings, it is just a list of the sites I use on a regular basis.
6. VOX, a place for your blog, can be like community if you invest some time in it.
7. LiveJournal, nowhere near a journal but good for articles and driving traffic.
8. Tumblr, one of the best blogging websites around.
9. Blog, Wordpress powered websites, no need to say more.
10. Gather, a site similar to HubPages and Squidoo, but people really don’t care too much about a community there, they stick to their groups, like on Facebook and that’s it, but it has its uses.
11. MuBlogs, another WordPress powered blog.
12. Netcipia, similar to Weebly and WetPaint, but different. I don’t like those sites as they need to be promoted, it’s not a community we are talking about, so it’s just a stand alone blog.
13. SOSBlog, do follow, no follow, now they are back to do follow links, I really don’t know if they are going to make up their minds.
14. Blogster, one of my favorites.
15. Aeonity, article directory.
16. Go Articles, one of the best article directories, surely a must for anyone in article marketing.
17. Article Dashboard, article directory.
18. Amazines, another article directory.
19. Article Rich, yet another article directory.
20. Isnare, a solid article directory. (Had to remove the link to Isnare as new HubPages guidelines say that this website is prohibited)
21. Sooper Articles, and another article directory.
22. Article Click, no need to say what this is!
23. Info Barrel, I’m in love with this site, I love it more and more each day.
24. Article Slash, again, article directory.
25. Articles Factory, they don’t make articles, they sell them, it should be article shop or article stand, not factory.
26. Upublish, u publish articles on this one, so that makes it… an article directory.
27. MyBlogSite, obviously it’s not mine, it’s someone else’s blog site, but hey.
28. Article Bliss, another one.
29. Multiply, blog site, new to it but so far so good.
30. Bloguni, blog site.

wow, amazing. Just how much time did it take you to post all these links? This is really a great hub, plenty of info and finally some do follow websites I can use. You know how hard is to find some of these, really useful stuff. thanks
I have to admit, I wasn't aware of half of these article directories, and the resource stuff. man, that Matt Cutts sure has some cool things to say. Thanks for the Hub, really great and useful piece of work.
gr8 information... no follow is a very bad idea.. i have one suggestion for social bookmarkers and sharing.. i thnk most of u know tht.. but still i want 2 add a note on it..
join onlywire.com where you can easily bookmark and share your links..i know many of them know many others tht do this job..
wats my point is u cannot login and do all the stuff at once..like only wire provides about 50 social websites..to login and share in all those is some wat time consuming..onlywire provides a common login point for all these sites with a single addon to ur explorer..thts it..signup,bookmark and share.. and as zarko mentioned abt the 30 sites..they are awesome in driving traffic..onlywire provides access to those sites too..
awesome job zarko..even i do the same u said..and if psble i will add a link of screen shot which increased the traffic quite shortly after following these steps...2 b frank my traffic sources were dying and it was around -68% but as per today its around 209% this increase was in a span of 7 days.a total of 277% change..thts awsome isnt it..
good luck
http://www.picfront.org/d/7K4A
here is the screen shot..how it increased traffic if we follow wat zarko said..
Svaka cast majstore... :)
Thanks man, this is just what i needed. Im looking for things like this for last 7 days and it is bothering me... This part "getting backlinks" is boooooooorrriiiiiiiiiing!
This is really a great hub. Very helpful, I will come back to this one for sure.
Really interesting Hub
I think your definately right when it comes to Hubpages.. the admiration here is the best I have witnessed. And you are right, ezinearticles.com is the king's palace!
Zark, this honestly may be one of the top ten hubs I have/will save on hubpages, thank you so much for this info. And it's good to know as I am on quite a few of them and wordpress is probably my fav I'm starting to like stumbleupon and finding some good content and try to support hubs like this one. and everywhere else. but you need to know the very best website is for bloggers of all creative mediums and forums only members can see, It's mine lol but what a hell of a job wow, I keep trying to learn, I'll get =we'll probably start 2012 lol and its created in wordpress.
thanks again, off to rate you up!
Wow, what a great list of resources. W3Schools has been a constant resource for me, and I think every SEO should keep up with Matt C.
Zarko thanks for the big tips here. Just too much to read in the one sitting so I am bookmarking it for sure and twitter. (Thank Kimberly for my visit it is on her FB)
I am struggling with this one - thank you very much! The do follow and no follow and all the different backlinks are difficult to fully understand. You are a great resource. Wonderful layout and explanations.
Fantastic hub and great list!
Good advice. For sure, Wordpress is superb and must rank as the best user-friendly package around?
I love the list of resources! I am new to SEO and I will be checking out your hubs for beginners. Thanks so much!
Hi Zarko,
Your hub's very comprehensive--it's a great list to help some of us who are trying to learn about SEO, backlinks, etc. You're the first person I've heard say no-follow links are important! Thanks for this information!
Nice work Zarko, very useful hub and I have marked it as such. Sorry it took me a while to get to look at some of your hubs, but I can see now that it was my loss not coming to look sooner.
Hi Zarkozivkovic.... Very helpful article... Can you also explain how to get good traffic....
Wow this is a goldmine I just found. Great information, easy layout, it is a comprehensive guide for SEO tactics.
Bookmarking it for a lifetime. Very helpful, some of them I know but it never hurts to go through again and benefit from it.
Hey Zarko, amazing! I am new in this line (SEO) but what you write here is a tonic for me. I read this article 3times at a time. Thanks friend.
@Zarkozivkovic you do not have to be surprised, Good effort and a great hub always draws attention and is well appreciated around Hubpages. Cheers for many more visits down the line.
This is an awesome hub! Thanks for sharing this. This will be very useful to me and I'm sure many other people will find it useful as well. Voted up!
Very useful, thanks. I think we all need constant reminders and updates ref. SEO and this was very hlpful
Thumbs up - this page is getting bookmarked.
Very much like the dofollow list
Since When was HubPages Do-Follow ?
If it is I am not aware of it. Nor does it pop up on any link pop checks I do on http://www.info-intel.com .
I am confused.
This is a good hub though. Useful, and pro.
Great and useful hub my friend which I have printed out for bedtime reading, I know, my lovelife is crap ; )
Thank you for the information, and for the quick education.
I believe in providing quality so I don't worry too much about follow links, and I wasn't trying to (spam) promote as I am not selling anything directly, and I focus on quality.
Again, thanks for the informative response !
Really appreciate the time you have put in to this very valuable directory of sites. Thanks!! Great article.
Is SEO book worth it at $300+/month!?
^^ that was me up there
Wow Zark!!! I just had to bookmark this page. It is very well-written and touches on a lot of important issues. I particularly like the way that you drive home the fact that it is more important to produce quality content than to try to continuously please search engines like Google. I have stopped really focusing on Do follow or No Follow. I just write the best content I can and find related links of quality. All the rest will take care of itself. Besides, with Google's changinging algorithms CONTENT will always be KING - and they know this!
Thanks for the reply, that's what I figured when looking at various internet marketing forums like WF and Digital Point
You rock dude!
This is an amazing list. I use about half of the sites you mention, but have never heard of the other half. My only disagreement is with Wordpress. They are extremely picky and I have had quite a few blogs shut down for no apparent reason. I put a banner ad on the side bar and I guess that is a no no. I put adsense on the side bar and that got me kicked out as well. I even had a blog where I detailed my personal diet with no outbound links whatsoever shut down. It just appears to be to risky to spend time blogging there because it could all be taken away at any time (for no apparent reason).
Either way, thanks for an absolutely fantastic resource!
this good seo
Really cool hub. Good Job.
Great tip! Good job!
Much help for me :) trying out Ezine Articles now for starters
never heard of warrior. Thanks, I bookmarked it.
How cool is this article. I love the part about the no follow links. Seo guys take this way to far. Yep a link is a link.
It all depends where you are targeting and what you are doing!
Also, commenting blogs, some are follows, some are no follows. Truthfully I don't care as long as I can contribute to the conversation in some and I can leave a link there!
Thanks so much.
This will be going on the Hubpages Tribe Blog.

Very good article. If you like using Wordpress as your platform, lookup http://ownablog.com which is powered by wordpress. I believe they allow users 10 free blogs with over 400 templates to choose from. They also split adsense revenue. I also wrote my first hub on Own a Blog.
Odlican post, hvala puno na korisnim informacijama
great post, very informative , thnx and keep us informed
Very informative and on point. Great job!
I have to disagree with you some. While wordpress and google blogs can be dofollow, most of them aren't. So it is a bit misleading to have them in your list of do follow sites.
Your point there is accurate, my apologies in misunderstanding it.
I still think it's worth noting that commenting sections on these sites are not do-follow but you are accurate in your descriptions of your own created blogs on these services.
Great reference.. I will use your hub in some of my future SEO posts!
Like Warriorforum & SEOforum, i have found one more forum V7N. This forum is like digital point but they've strict rules and moderation and good contributors as well. Nice Hub,Voted Up. :)
Great Info
very nice
follow me please
Dude, this is some VERY good stuff. I'll make sure that I bookmark this in case I get lost in some of the resources you have provided. Thank you.
Thanks so much for sharing this valuable information. Hoping to get more traffic for my hubs.
Very useful hub. Tons of great info.
This is a nice hub, filled with great information. I am beginning to learn the nuts and bolts of SEO. So far, much of the info I have read is very helpful, and I am starting to see results by applying what I learned. Thanks for the hub.
great hub with lots of helpful links, all in one place....thanks for sharing
This is a GREAT reference. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
This is a brilliant hub! We will bookmark it for your list of Do Follow Links.
What makes this hub special for us is that you have pointed out the value of referring sites for web traffic.
Our 'main' business is our own website (which we won't name as we're not trying to spam here). About 40% of our traffic is from search engines, but that always has a high bounce rate. About 50% is from referring sites, including HubPages, but WordPress is our key site. These are much more productive in our experience. The numbers of viewers who go through more than two or three pages is very satisfactory. Most people writing about how to generate traffic concentrate on the Search Engines, but you haver written about something that we have found more valuable.
Thanks for a great hub.
I recently learned about do-follow links and you're completely right about how "SEO Gurus" will make you completely forget about no-follow ones. For the past week I've been focusing on do-follow only and it hasn't even crossed my mind that it's only for Google. Thanks for this hub, very informative and taught me something I didn't know!
Lots of information... and thanks for copyscape.. :)
this hub is very useful..great job...
I would have never thought about using these before. I am glad that I have a list of good quality do follow sites now. All I know is that it is becoming harder and more competitive than what it was just a mere two years ago when I first thought about learning about the internet and business.
Thank you for the great information that you give here in this article!
I think that I need to go back and start from scratch, just when I though that I was getting a grasp on all of the SEO stuff wow still have a lot to learn, now I am going to go through your hubs, thanks
Great tips. No doubt do follow links are of great importance but one cannot neglect the no follow links because the are also a great source of attracting traffic to your website. I think the best SEO practice is to use each and every ethical and legal method. Only then one can stay competitive.
Your article was very informative and thanks for the links too.
A quick note about no-follow though. It is my findings that the "Big G" is getting smarter by the minute and is analyzing links a bit differently and can determine that everything linked to your site is do-follow and may actually start penalizing this(?). I try to maintain a combonation of both. This looks more natural to the "Big G".
Very informative post. I especially liked the list of 30 do-follow sites. These are a great link building addition.
i truthfully enjoy your own writing kind, very remarkable,
don’t give up as well as keep writing due to the fact that it simply just worth to follow it.
looking forward to see a whole lot more of your current well written articles, enjoy your day
Internet marketing Company
nice information about seo trips thanks for sharing
Informative hub ZarkoZivkovic! Thanks.
Regarding EzineArticles, I would like to add that Google loves its backlinks because it is the only Articles Directory that is reviewing the submitted articles manually to ensure the quality.
Great information. I have wondered about the difference between having a blog on Blogger one on Wordpress. Which would be better? Thanks for the hub. Great job.
I wouldn't classify Blogger as a dofollow site. And google doesn't 'love it' as has been proved countless times.
You can manually remove nofollow tags in blogger but not all newbies would be aware of how to do that.
Otherwise, good article.
I always enjoy reading other peoples hubs, it often gives me ideas that I never had before and inspires.
Thanks for keeping it simple for everyone to understand!
This is an excellent list of resources. I really appreciate the time you took to create this list. I'm pretty new to HP, but have written for some other sites. I'm looking to focus more time here.
Creating backlinks is a place I've lacked. Oh whew, you do have InfoBarrel up there. I was gonna give ya a bad time, but carefully went through the list again. That's where I write the most. I love it.
I don't understand the purpose of Ezine. Do you submit new articles and the benefit is the bio link? For example, on IB we can't have duplicate content (yay), so I don't see how I can submit an article to Ezine.
Loved it.
Thanks, this is an incredibly helpful article. I'm also glad to hear there are others out there that believe in the power of content for no follow links.
Zarko I can't keep up with you man! You have a lot of knowledge in that head of yours. Thanks for all of this free information on SEO my friend. Cheers, Martin
Great ideas, and ueasful SEO resources! Thank you to sharing them with us! I bookmark it for further reading. Yeah-eh-heah
Excellent and very helpful list, Zarko. Thanks. I've been meaning to get round to providing my own list of useful articles, sites and resources I use or find helpful, and this hub must certainly be in that list.
Great post. And great list of do-follow sites. I had heard of most of them, but quite a few are new to me. I'll definitely check them out.
Great job on the hub dude.
Some new dofollow sites that I have not tested before on your list. Thanks for the heads up.
Great list and wonderful hub. Thanks for sharing! You have taught me a lot. Rated up and awesome!
Great article. Does anybody know why certain hubs come up with no-follow links?
Excellent list of resources! Thanks! One to bookmark, especially for the dofollow sites. I haven't yet read through all the comments, so I don't know if someone has mentioned that Livejournal has now changed to nofollow. Pity, but I guess a mix of dofollow and nofollow won't hurt!
I always check my website history and analyze my site on alexa.com . Just try this you will have better details of your website.
ZarkoZivkovic your hubs are very helpful, I am new to SEO and you are much more senior to me, i just want to thank you for sharing so much information.
Really interesting hub,and keep it going man.Ovakvi ljudi treba da nas predstavljaju.I really like that you are an SEO optimizer. I have finished my studies at IT Academy for Network Administrator.I will follow you. If you want to... Do the same... Ads,ads,ads - heh,dont forget to check them out :}}}
I find really good to visit this site you guys are really doing great work lots of knowledge one can get from here. Feel blessed.
